A Muslim and pro-Palestinian student at Stanford University threatened to “physically fight Zionists on campus.”

Stanford student Hamzeh Daoued, who will serve as a resident assistant at the California school in fall 2018, made the remark on Facebook, The College Fix reported Monday.

“I’m gonna physically fight Zionists on campus next year if someone comes at me with their ‘Israel is democracy bullshit’ :)” Daoud wrote Friday. “And after I abolish your ass i’ll go ahead and work every day for the rest of my life to abolish your petty ass ethnosupremacist settler-colonial state.”

The student edited the “physically fight Zionists” portion of his statement to “intellectually fight Zionists” around four hours after publication of the original Facebook post, reported the Stanford Daily.

“[Standford College Republicans] is disgusted by a threat of violence issued by Hamzeh Daoud, a rising junior at Stanford University, toward pro-Israel students,” the group wrote on Facebook. “Threatening to assault other students who hold a different point of view is anathema to a free society and any kind of education, let alone the operation of the premier research university in the world.”

The College Republicans demanded that Stanford relieve Daoud of his resident assistant duties. (RELATED: Pro-Israel Author: College Students Prefer ‘Narratives’ Over Facts)

“If I were a Jewish parent and knew my child was in the dorm under Mr. Daoud’s responsibility I would have a hard time trusting that his extreme bias would not undermine his judgment,” one commenter remarked on Facebook. “I believe this post is accurate in calling for disciplinary action, if not expulsion.”

Another wrote that “Hamzeh has shown that he is not too proud to admit his mistakes (hence not completely deleting the post, but discussing his edit candidly) nor deluded into thinking the original post wasn’t a mistake.”

Stanford told the Stanford Daily that it was “following up” on Daoud’s post. The school did not respond immediately to a request for comment.
