On today’s edition of The Daily Daily Caller Podcast, we discuss the FISA warrant application memo that was partially released last month and talk about why the whole thing wasn’t given to the American people. What are they hiding?

The memo is classified, but was released in July in a heavily redacted form. But we still have no idea what’s under the blacked out portions of the document, which makes up a huge percentage of it. Why aren’t we allowed to know what it says? If the president is a Russian puppet, wouldn’t you think Democrats would have leaked it? If it’s a nothingburger showing this whole investigation was based on the bogus Steele dossier, wouldn’t you think Republicans would have leaked it? What’s going on?

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes was on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Wednesday night calling for Trump to declassify the memo, but Nunes himself could go down to the floor of the House or Representatives and, under the absolute protection of the Speech or Debate Clause of the Constitution, enjoy complete and total immunity from prosecution and tell us what the classified portions of the memo say. He hasn’t. Neither has Democratic ranking member Adam Schiff. Why not? Are both sides playing this to their political advantage? Schiff says the memo makes clear there was more to this investigation than the Steele dossier, Nunes says there isn’t. Both can’t be true. And both could tell us without any legal ramifications, yet neither will. We talk about why.

We also talk about how the media is covering the Paul Manafort trial. He’s on trial for things that happened long before he’d met Donald Trump, but every media story about it mentions how Manafort was Trump’s campaign chairman and the charges came out of the “Russian collusion” investigation. Why? Why mention something completely unrelated to the case when talking about the case? To give a false impression, obviously. We explain.

And there’s a short Jim Acosta update at the end of the show because he’s on a victim tour of CNN shows after having “CNN sucks” chanted at him in Florida. CNN will spend more days covering their hack being booed and they spent on a liberal trying to assassinate as many Republican Members of Congress as possible last year. CNN moved on from that story before Congressman Steve Scalise was safely removed from life support.
