Academy Award winner Casey Affleck apologized for acting unprofessionally after being accused of sexual harassment in two lawsuits that resurfaced from 2010.

Affleck, who is also the brother of actor Ben Affleck, claimed his previous actions were “really unprofessional” after facing sexual harassment allegations in two 2010 lawsuits, he told The Associated Press in an interview Thursday. He stated in the interview that since he has two sons, he wants to live in a world where grown men exemplify decency and compassion toward others.

“I behaved in a way and allowed others to behave in a way that was really unprofessional. And I’m sorry,” Affleck said.

Affleck was accused of sexual harassment in two separate suits by colleagues Amanda White and cinematographer Magdalena Gorka in 2010. The two women claimed that Affleck verbally and sexually harassed them while working on the mockumentary “I’m Still Here.” Affleck was accused of slipping into Gorka’s bed while she was sleeping, grabbing White and instructing a crew member to display his penis on set, The Guardian reported.

The actor also noted in the interview that he runs a production company called Sea Change Media with a colleague who he described as a “very, very smart woman.” (RELATED: Casey Affleck Drops Out Of Presenting At Oscars Following Sexual Harassment Claims)

Affleck also shared his views on the #MeToo Movement.

“I think bigger picture, in this business women have been underrepresented and underpaid and objectified and diminished and humiliated and belittled in a bazillion ways and just generally had a mountain of grief thrown at them forever,” Affleck said.

“I need to keep my mouth shut and listen and try to figure out what’s going on and be a supporter and a follower in the little, teeny tiny ways that I can.”

Affleck won the 2017 Academy Award for best actor for his role in “Manchester by the Sea.” He skipped the 2018 ceremony to present the best actress award after his 2010 sexual harassment lawsuits resurfaced, Time magazine reported.
