The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is reportedly planning to host a series of televised presidential primary debates in 2019 and have started conversations with different networks.

The discussions are still “in the very early stages,” an official told The Associated Press Saturday. The DNC’s hope is to get a jump start on the 2020 presidential election and to not play favorites among the expected group of potential candidates.

“The DNC’s goal is to have a debate process that is transparent, fair, impartial and inclusive,” senior party adviser Mary Beth Cahill said in a statement to The AP.

Some of the Democratic candidates speculated to run in the 2020 presidential election include New York Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren, California Sen. Kamala Harris, New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, former Vice President Joe Biden and others.

Maryland Democratic Rep. John Delaney has already announced his bid for the 2020 presidential election. (RELATED: The Number Of Dems Who Want Hillary To Run In 2020 Should Make All Trump Supporters Cheer)

The DNC is set to vote on proposals Saturday at its summer meeting.
