According to Watergate icon Bob Woodward’s latest book, “Fear: Trump in the White House,” President Donald Trump dismissed Attorney General Jeff Sessions as “mentally retarded” and a “dumb Southerner.”

The Washington Post has received an advance copy of the journalist’s latest tome that allegedly shows the administration in “nervous breakdown” mode.

Trump’s derision of Sessions apparently occurred when the president was railing against his AG when secretary Rob Porter was listening.

“‘This guy is mentally retarded. He’s this dumb Southerner,'” Woodward says Trump said while doing his best southern drawl. “‘He couldn’t even be a one-person country lawyer down in Alabama.'”

Woodward also writes that Trump refers to Sessions as a “traitor,” recusing himself from special counsel Robert Mueller’s examination of alleged Trump collusion with Russia during the 2016 election.

Fear: Trump in the White House” is one of Woodward’s many books on national politics, which the journalist claims is the result of “hundreds of hours of interviews with firsthand sources, meeting notes, personal diaries, files and documents.”

The book also alleges that John Dowd —  Trump’s personal attorney at the time — advised the president not to testify before Mueller because it would be a legal minefield.

“‘This thing’s a goddamn hoax,'” Woodward quotes Trump as saying, “‘I don’t really want to testify.'”
