After Breitbart published a leaked video of Google employees reacting to President Donald Trump’s victory in 2016 on Thursday, CNN left its viewers in the dark by spending no time on-air covering the story and assigned no reporter to write about it for its website, according to a search by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Ironically, just a few weeks ago in late August, CNN analyst Chris Cillizza dismissed a tweet alleging that Google had “rigged” search results against him as a “conspiracy theory.”

“What the President of the United States is peddling to his 54 million Twitter followers, then, is an anecdote hung on a flawed analysis of media partisanship,” Cillizza wrote on Aug. 28.

Since the release of the video, however, CNN has not devoted any time on its cable network or its website to cover its contents. (RELATED: CNN Ignores Switchblade Attack On GOP Congressional Candidate)

The Twitter feeds of prominent CNN journalists like Cillizza, Oliver Darcy, and Brian Stelter were also empty of any reference to the Breitbart story.

Other left-leaning outlets, like the New York Times and the Washington Post, however, ran articles the same day analyzing potential consequences and reactions regarding the video.

Importantly, the video released by Breitbart does not provide any evidence that Google manipulates search results.

Yet, some of the reactions by Google execs does raise concerns that the company will use resources to interfere in future elections.

Google CFO Ruth Porat, through tears 15 minutes into the video, says that her company will “use the great strength and resources and reach we have to continue to advance really important values.”

Eileen Naughton, VP of People Operation, tells employees 20 minutes into the video that Google’s policy team in Washington, DC, is “all over” the “immigration issue and that the company will ‘keep a close watch on it,'” according to Breitbart.

Google co-founder Sergey Brin compares Trump voters to “extremists” and compares the president’s supporters to those who once supporter “fascism and communism,” throughout the video.

The company’s Senior VP for Global Affairs, Kent Walker, goes as far as saying that the search giant must take steps to ensure that the global populist movement does not lead to “a world war or something catastrophic” and “instead is a blip, a hiccup,” at 56 minutes into the video, according to Breitbart.

A request for comment by CNN was not returned.
