Secretary of Defense Mike Pompeo on Wednesday accused John Kerry and other former Obama administration officials who have met with their counterparts in Iran in an effort to save the nuclear deal of working for their own foreign policy and “not the one that belongs to the United States.”

During an interview with the Secretary of State on Wednesday night’s edition of “The Ingraham Angle,” Fox News host Laura Ingraham began with the topic of Kerry’s intervention on the Iran nuclear deal.

“Secretary Kerry can’t seem to get off the stage, and you have to,” Pompeo said. “When I am the former secretary I will get off. Every previous former secretary has done that too.”

“It’s one thing to meet with your counterparts, it’s another thing to do what Secretary Kerry, [former Under Secretary of State] Wendy Sherman, [former Energy Secretary] Ernest Moniz, frankly the whole gang has done, which is to actively seek to undermine what President Trump is trying to achieve. It’s okay to talk with them, but you have to be working for America, working for American foreign policy. And they are not. They are working for the foreign policy that is theirs, not the one that belongs to the United States.”

Ingraham later asked Pompeo about the possibility of pursuing “some type of legal action” against Kerry and others.

“I will leave the legal actions to others,” Pompeo said. “I am trying to execute American’s foreign policy, and they are not only unhelpful but acting in ways that are harmful to achieving what’s best for the American people, and that’s my criticism. Stop it and let it go. You had your day. We think you fundamentally got it wrong with Iran, and we’re trying to make it right.”
