It’s not yet known who he allegedly assaulted, but this isn’t Ravenel’s first run in with the law. The former South Carolina state treasurer was indicted on a federal cocaine distribution charge in 2007. He was charged and spent 10 months in prison. And in spring 2018, Ravenel was accused of sexual assault by two women. Police in Charleston, South Carolina, opened an investigation which is still ongoing.

Ravenel has been on Bravo’s hit reality series since 2014 but decided to cut ties with the show after its fifth season. He announced his departure in a since-deleted tweet.

“I’m not doing the show anymore. In the contract, they have the right to fictionalize your story. They took advantage of me,” he wrote. “I decided I’ve got too much to lose and informed them I’m not coming back.”

Ravel has been to rehab to deal with his addiction issues in the past. It’s not clear if he plans to go back following his most recent arrest.
