CNN commentator Marc Lamont Hill said that rape culture is so pervasive that he believes Brett Kavanaugh could have been telling the truth during his testimony last week despite having actually assaulted Dr. Ford back when they were in high school. He made the observation during a segment of “The Lead with Jake Tapper” on CNN Monday afternoon.

The panel consisted of Hill, John Avlon — a CNN senior political analyst, Rich Lowry – an editor for National Review, and Margaret Hoover — a CNN political commentator.
“Well, a couple quick things though. This isn’t the first time his temperament has been raised. This isn’t just because he’s under his accusation. A few years ago the American Bar Association lowered his rating because of his courtroom demeanor and temperament,” Hill stated. “My point is, this isn’t the first time that it’s been raised. The second thing, is yeah, again, this isn’t about his opinions. I think that’s a question that has been raised obviously.
“But again we have to ask a question, if this person is saying little lies about whether what a yearbook caption means, or whether it’s about how much he drank, then it could, as Comey said, lead to bigger lies and signal bigger lies and that’s a question we can point to and look at,” he continued.
Hill added, “I think rape culture is so pervasive that it’s possible he’s not lying and still did it.”
