Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein announced Tuesday that this week is too soon for the Senate to vote on Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court.

“Well, I believe it is. I believe it’s too soon,” Feinstein told reporters on Capitol Hill, according to Reuters. “It’s Tuesday and we have to put all the facts together.”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell proclaimed a day prior that the full Senate will be voting after a week-long FBI investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh is completed.

“The time for endless delay and destruction has come to a close,” McConnell said Monday. “Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination is out of committee, we’re considering it here on the floor, and Mr. President, we’ll be voting this week.” (RELATED: Christine Blasey Ford Reaches Deal To Testify But Dianne Feinstein Tries To Call It Off)

Feinstein also indicated that the FBI report should not be made public.

“It would seem to me that if people are going to be identified, this ought to be held very close,” Feinstein said.

The California senator was made aware of Christine Blasey Ford’s accusations of sexual assault in July, weeks before the Senate Judiciary Committee convened for Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing. She notably withheld information from her Senate colleagues until right before the committee was scheduled to vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court.
