Twitter restored Georgetown professor Christine Fair’s account on Tuesday and said her account was suspended “in error.”

Fair, who teaches in the Security Studies program at Georgetown, had her account suspended after she tweeted about castrating white men’s corpses and feeding them to pigs. (RELATED: Georgetown Professor: ‘Castrate’ White Men And ‘Feed Them To Swine’)

“All of them deserve miserable deaths while feminists laugh as they take their last gasps,” Fair wrote. “Bonus: we castrate their corpses and feed them to swine? Yes.”

Fair’s Twitter account was suspended for several hours before being restored to the platform.

The Wrap’s Jon Levine reported Tuesday afternoon that the suspension was done “in error” and that Fair’s account is active, although she is no longer verified.

Georgetown told The Daily Caller that they support Fair’s right to free speech but expect her to keep her classrooms free of bias.

UPDATE (2:09 pm):

Georgetown released the updated statement to The Daily Caller:

“Georgetown urges members of our community to engage in robust but respectful dialogue. While we protect speech and expression, we condemn uncivil and disrespectful discourse that is inconsistent with our values.

The views of faculty members expressed in their private capacities are their own and not the views of the University. Our policy does not prohibit speech based on the person presenting ideas or the content of those ideas, even when those ideas may be difficult, controversial or objectionable. While faculty members may exercise freedom of speech, we expect their classrooms and interaction with students to be free of bias and geared toward thoughtful, respectful dialogue.”
