South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham brought up Bill Clinton sexual assault accusers Juanita Broaddrick and Kathleen Willey in response to a question about how Trump is handling the allegations against Brett Kavanaugh.

The president made a forceful defense of Kavanaugh last night at a campaign rally but has been criticized for mocking Ford’s inability to recall key details of the alleged event. Graham has been one of Kavanaugh’s most full-throated defenders.

When asked for comment on Trump’s remarks, Graham called it a “factual rendition that [he] didn’t particularly like,” saying, “I would tell [Trump] to knock it off … But it can be worse.”

Graham continued, “You can actually kill somebody’s cat and puncture their tires to get them to shut up, so, you know.”

Graham was referencing the allegations against the Clinton’s by Kathleen Willey, who accused President Clinton of sexual assault against her and said the Clinton family threatened her family and pet cat in retaliation for telling her story.

The interviewer said to Graham, “I don’t even understand what that means.”

“Well, you don’t remember Kathleen Willey and Juanita Broaddrick?” Graham snapped back.

Juanita Broaddrick accused Clinton of raping her while she was working for him in 1978. She came forward with the allegations in 1999.

“I remember the thing about the cat. What’s the point?” the interviewer asked defensively.

“The point is, we’ve come a long way. We’ve come a long way,” Graham said, “Whether you like it or not, I really don’t care.”
