Democratic West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin has announced that he will officially vote “yes” to confirm Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
Manchin released a statement on Friday afternoon shortly after Republican Sen. Susan Collins announced that she would also vote to confirm. “Based on all of the information I have available to me, including the recently completed FBI report, I have found Judge Kavanaugh to be a qualified jurist who will follow the Constitution and determine cases based on the legal findings before him,” Manchin said.

Anti-Kavanaugh protesters chanted “shame” at Manchin in the halls of Congress after he announced his intention to vote “yes.”
The final vote for Kavanaugh’s confirmation will take place on Saturday. The Senate voted 51-49 on Friday to invoke cloture and limit final debate on the confirmation to 30 hours.
