The White House broke into celebration as Maine Republican Sen. Susan Collins announced her support for Judge Brett Kavanaugh during her speech on the Senate floor Friday afternoon.

According to NBC News, cheering was heard from the White House when Collins’ speech ended her speech with: “Mr. President, I will vote to confirm Judge Kavanaugh.” (RELATED: Sen. Collins Denounces Julie Swetnick’s Gang-Rape Party Allegations In Senate Speech)

With her vote in favor of Kavanaugh, his confirmation is almost locked. All 51 Republicans, excluding Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, are expected to vote for him, with Democratic West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin joining them. (RELATED: Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin Will Vote To Confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh)

The first statement from the White House after Collins’ announcement was from Press Secretary Sarah Sanders. She tweeted, “Thank you, Senator Collins, for standing by your convictions and doing the right thing to confirm Judge Kavanaugh.”

The president has not weighed in on the recent revelations yet.
