President Trump on Saturday used “radical Democrats” who “have turned into an angry mob” as a lesson for why conservatives should elect “a Republican House and a Republican Senate.”
Speaking in Topeka, Kansas on the evening after Brett Kavanaugh obtained final Senate confirmation over the voices of screaming protesters in the Senate gallery, Trump characterized liberal attempts to hijack the process as essentially a lesson in mob rule that should be countered by the “rule of law.”

“What he and his wonderful family endured at the hands of Democrats is unthinkable, unthinkable,” said Trump. “In their quest for power, the radical Democrats have turned into an angry mob. “They threw away and threw aside every notion of fairness, of justice, of decency and of due process,” he continued as he made the case for the crowd to “render” their “verdict on the Democrats’ conduct at the ballot box.”
“You have to vote,” Trump told the crowd. “On November 6 you will have the chance to stop the radical Democrats — and that’s what they have become — by electing a Republican House and a Republican Senate. We will increase our majorities. We need more Republicans. We need more Republicans.”
Noting that Republicans have become “energized,” Trump took aim at Democrats all too “willing to cause such destruction in the pursuit of power.”
“Just imagine the devastation they would cause if they of their obtained the power they so desperately want and crave,” Trump said. “You don’t hand matches to an arsonist and you don’t give power to an angry left-wing mob, and that’s what they have become.”
“The Democrats have become too extreme and too dangerous to govern,” he continued. “Republicans believe in the rule of law not the rule of the mob.”
