Fox News correspondent Ed Henry said Republicans have been “woken” up by Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s contentious Supreme Court confirmation fight and are ready to head to the polls in November.

“I remember a couple weeks before the Kavanaugh confirmation battle really heated up and all the allegations came out — The New York Times had a story saying that Republicans were privately frustrated that the president kept talking about a red wave, because it was going to dampen Republican enthusiasm,” Henry said on “Fox & Friends” Monday.

“They were sort of asleep at the switch. It seems to me they’ve been woken,” he said. (RELATED: Real Clear Politics Poll Analyst Sees Republicans On The Rise In Battleground States Due To Kavanaugh Controversy)

Henry also said the GOP has had a successful fundraising effort for the midterm cycle.

“The Republican National Committee, about a week ago, had their biggest fundraising day in history, ever in a non-presidential year. They’re still raising big money,” Henry said. “Voters who say midterms are very important — Democrats 78 percent in July now up to 82 percent, GOP 68 percent in July, it was lower than the Dems and as you say, now up to 80 percent in October.”

Henry warned of a possible “deflation” after Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court appointment and said Republicans will have to keep the momentum alive if they hope to be successful in November.
