The owner of a truck with pro-Trump bumper stickers says his vehicle was firebombed in Vancouver, Wash., according to a local report.

Johnny MacKay reportedly left his vehicle in the parking lot of the Garage Bar and Grille and took alternate transportation home after consuming alcohol at the establishment.

When he came back for his truck on Monday, it looked like it had hit a land mine.

“All of a sudden I saw the tires were melted, the windows were shattered, and I was just in shock,” MacKay told local CBS affiliate KOIN.

Somebody reportedly spray-painted “Trump” on the side of the truck and had apparently taken offense at the bumper stickers on the back of the vehicle, which read “Trump 2020: Make Liberals Cry Again,” and “Trump 2020: Keep America Great.” MacKay says the irony is that he didn’t cast a vote for Trump in 2016 but supports the president today.

He hadn’t displayed his Trump loyalty until very recently.

“I literally just put them on this weekend,” he told KOIN. “If I would’ve known somebody would’ve taken politics this far — I saw them, I thought they were funny and apparently somebody didn’t get the joke.”

Local Randy Sanchagrin heard the explosion.

“All of a sudden I hear a loud bomb and the windows shake,” Sanchagrin told KOIN.

“People just need to relax. The world’s not going to stop turning just because somebody’s in office that you don’t like,” MacKay told KGW8 News.
