Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren has long claimed Native American ancestry and she released a DNA test on Monday to offer proof.

The Boston Globe originally claimed on Monday that the DNA test revealed Warren was somewhere between 1/32 and 1/512 Native American, however they then corrected their story saying the numbers are actually between 1/64 and 1/1,024. (RELATED: Boston Globe Correction Casts Doubt On Liz Warren’s Ancestry Claims)

Prior to taking the DNA test, however, Warren was labeled as Harvard Law School’s only Native American professor back in 1996.

Further, she stated that her parents were forced to elope because her father’s family was unhappy he was marrying a Native American woman. However, the Washington Times pushed back on that after finding a newspaper clipping of their wedding.
