If life imitates art, The Washington Post may want to pay attention to what is happening right outside its own doors in Washington, D.C.

This week, a Mirror spy observed a man relieving himself in a flower bed outside the pristine front of the town’s premiere newspaper owned by resident rich guy Jeff Bezos.

While the publication struggles to give its own employees healthcare coverage, perhaps they could give this man some toilet paper?

Back in June, more than 400 WaPo employees signed a letter complaining to the paper’s billionaire owner about pay and benefits.

“All we are asking for is fairness for each and every employee who contributed to this company’s success: fair wages; fair benefits for retirement, family leave and health care; and a fair amount of job security,” the letter said.

“Offering $10 a week in pay increases – or about 0.6 percent of the median salary and less than half the current rate of inflation – is unfair and even shocking from someone who believes democracy dies in darkness.”

The letter went on to raise points about cutting severance for laid off employees.

“The Post is not just any business venture,” the letter continued. “But even if it were – this would not be the way to show that you value your employees. Please show the world that you not only can lead the way in creating wealth, but that you also know how to share it with the people who helped you create it.”

And while they’re at it, a few porta potties might do the publication some good.

Amazon sells ’em for $59.99.
