The Golden State Warriors unveiled their (most recent) NBA championship rings on Tuesday and all we can say is … wow.
The personalized rings broke the record for the most diamonds ever used in a pro-sports championship ring. The faces are also reversible, with one side showing the Golden Gate Bridge (obviously encrusted in diamonds) and the other showing the Warriors’ “The Town” logo. Each ring features 74 sapphires and 74 diamonds (each one represents a win in the regular season and one win in the playoffs), a trophy representing the Warriors 2017 championship win in 17k gold with a .17 carat white diamond, and a trophy representing the Warriors 2018 win in 18k gold with a .18 carat white diamond.

I don’t want to be a party pooper here because these rings are sick, but it’s REALLY bothering me how difficult it looks to twist the face off of these rings. Also, I wouldn’t even want my ring’s face to twist off. This thing is probably worth, like, a bajillion dollars. And if you don’t think I would lose that face in five seconds flat during my first time wearing it, then you’re sorely mistaken, my friend. I’d be willing to bet that at least four players are going to lose their faces, in part because it just looks so hard to screw on and off.
Still, these ring are the coolest ones I’ve ever seen. I can’t wait to see what the Warriors get for their 2019 championship rings.
