Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are in the news again, because everyone knows they can’t go more than 48 hours without a headline or Kim starts to shrivel up.

So I’ll oblige the happy couple. (RELATED: Kim Kardashian Launching Her Own Lingerie Line)

The two are on a high-profile trip around East Africa this week, raising awareness for themselves tourism and African causes. The couple stopped off in Uganda this week to pay president Yoweri Museveni a visit, where he gave them Ugandan names (“Kanyesigye” for Kanye and “Kemigisha” for Kim).

They then gave Museveni a pair of white Yeezy sneakers — signed by both Kardashian and West — then borrowed his presidential helicopter to visit a charity event for underprivileged children about 100 miles away in Masulita.

The pair then handed out dozens of pairs of sneakers at the orphanage and Kanye rapped for the kids.

It’s obviously really cool that Kim and Kanye took the time to visit Africa, although it is super weird that this “private” trip somehow got leaked to the press for photo ops and interviews. I bet Kimye just wanted a nice quiet trip with no distractions or reporters in sight.

With all the wealth they have, you’d think they could bring along more than just Yeezys from a few seasons ago. I’m not hating on anyone’s idea of philanthropy and it’s cool that they made the trip, but aren’t Kim and Kanye worth, like, a gazillion dollars? Don’t they have cars for pretty much every day of the week? It would be tight if Kimye built and named a new school after themselves or something like that. You know, go fully Oprah. I’m sure the kids appreciate the shoes but I’m pretty sure they’re not clamoring for Yeezys as much as they are for potable water and a decent education.

For what it’s worth, Kanye did pledge to put a “world class tourism school in the country, claiming it “will be a foundation of tourism not only in Uganda but the East Africa region in general.”

We’re not really sure what that means but we’ll keep our eyes peeled.
