MSNBC went live Thursday to a shot of gigantic golden “Trump” letters being removed from a building in New York. The letters were being taken down from the structure’s exterior after residents of the building voted to do so.

According to the AP:

Residents of Trump Place on the Upper West Side of Manhattan have joined three other buildings in the neighborhood in stripping the president’s brassy five-letter name from their 46-story building in another sign that the brand is losing some of its appeal.

The move follows reports of losses at some of President Donald Trump’s golf courses, and decisions by several hotels that had licensed the president’s name to drop it.

As the workers were taking down Trump’s name, Craig Melvin said, “You can see two workers there removing the president’s name from a building. This is a 46-story building, perhaps another sign that the President Trump brand is starting to lose a bit of its appeal — You see the workers there removing the president’s last name right now.”

The move to take a feed live was an interesting editorial decision for MSNBC. For the past 24 hours, a review of MSNBC coverage shows that the network refused to take a live feed of the president presenting the Medal of Honor at the White House, or event mention that the event was happening during the 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. (EST) broadcast hour. The network joined CNN, who also refused to broadcast the ceremony. (RELATED: Reporters Asked Kid Rock If Sessions Should Be Fired – He Tells Them They Should Be Fired)

Trump awarded the Medal of Honor to retired Marine Sergeant Major John L. Canley for his bravery and lifesaving actions taken during the Tet Offensive in the Vietnam War.

“He is truly larger than life,” Trump said of Canley before giving him the most prestigious military decoration. “America is the greatest force for peace, justice, and freedom the world has ever known because of you and people like you.”
