“Until people come to their senses, we will build it up,” Trump said on the White House lawn before departing for a rally in Texas.

Trump addressed his recent decision to pull out of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) treaty with Russia, asserting that Russia had violated the terms of that agreement. (RELATED: Report: Trump Preparing To Ditch Nuke Treaty That Russia Has Violated Repeatedly)

“Russia has not adhered to the agreement. This should have been done years ago. Until people come to their senses — we have more money than anybody else by far. We’ll build it up.”

One reporter asked Trump if his comments were a threat to Russia.

“It’s a threat to whoever you want, and it includes China, and it includes Russia, and it includes anyone else who wants to play that game,” he asserted. “You can’t play that game on me.”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted on Monday that Russia would compete with the United States if they continued to produce missiles after termination of the treaty.

“Until they get smart, there will be nobody that’s even close to us,” Trump said before boarding Marine One on Monday.
