Superstar rapper Tekashi69, real name Daniel Hernandez, was arrested Monday on alleged racketeering and firearms crimes. But he’s not getting any special treatment in prison.

According to a new TMZ report, Tekashi was placed in a general population prison while he waits on his bail hearing. He’s not being given any sort of priority considerations that other high-profile individuals are sometimes granted. Tekashi is being held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC Brooklyn) in New York, a reportedly ruthless place for prisoners. The U.S. Justice Department categorizes it as “extremely dangerous,” as it often brings in those charged for terrorism and drug smuggling, among other organized crime charges.

At least two of Tekashi69’s close former associates were arrested with him this week, including a former manager who goes by the name “Shottie,” and a man named Faheem Walter, who goes by “Crippy.”

Tekashi’s bail hearing was pushed from Tuesday to Wednesday, but his lawyer does not seem to believe he’s in any sort of heightened danger.

If Tekashi is convicted, he stands to spend up to 32 years in prison.
