“A Star is Born” is favored by oddsmakers to win the Best Picture at the 2019 Academy Awards.

The odds, according to OddShark, are below:

  • A Star is Born -125
  • Roma +500
  • Black Panther +750
  • Green Book +900
  • First Man +1000
  • If Beale Street Could Talk +1200
  • BlacKkKlansman +1400
  • The Favourite +1800
  • Vice +2000
  • Widows +2500
  • The Rider +3300

To be totally open and honest here. I haven’t seen the Bradley Cooper film, but everything I’ve heard about it is that it’s outstanding. Apparently it’s just a roller coaster of an emotional ride. (RELATED: The Thanksgiving Box Office Numbers Are Sickening. Here’s How Much Money Was Spent)

Any movie that involves substance abuse, Bradley Cooper and some music is bound to crush during the award season.

I think that’s a fair assessment.

The movie on the list that I’m most excited to see is “Vice.” The story of Dick Cheney and the Bush presidency sounds like a must-watch movie, especially with Christian Bale in the lead.

You can go ahead and take the money out of my wallet right now.

I’ll tell you this much, if a movie I’ve never heard of wins, then you will not see a very happy David Hookstead. We don’t need more of these art flicks winning awards.

We need movies people actually care about. That’s a fact, my friends.
