MSNBC anchors Ali Velshi and Stephanie Ruhle mocked the fact that President Donald Trump’s shortlist for White House chief of staff contains “six white guys.”

According to MSNBC, Trump’s potential picks for chief of staff include House Freedom Caucus (HFC) Chairman Mark Meadows, White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney, former Trump campaign deputy chairman David Bossie,  Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, and Yankees President Randy Levine.

“The six people that they’ve put out that are shortlisted are all white guys,” Ruhle complained. “I cannot think of one single public company right now that if they had an open senior position like that, or a board seat — you would never, in 2018, see that the shortlist is one, two, three, four, five, six white guys.”

Ruhle said the picks were “stunning” and added that any public company would be “clobbered” if their shortlist showed such little diversity, yet the White House “has no problem — ‘yup, these are our six.'”

Notably, all four of President Barack Obama’s chiefs of staff were white men: Rahm Emanuel, Bill Daley, Jack Lew, and Denis McDonough.

Current White House chief of staff Gen. John Kelly is set to leave the position at the end of the year.
