WNBA coach Todd Troxel sustained a horrifying injury in a fit of rage earlier this month and the details coming out are revolting.

Troxel, who serves as an assistant coach for the WNBA team Phoenix Mercury, was hospitalized Dec. 1 after he severed two arteries in his arm. Troxel was immediately put in the intensive care unit where he stayed recuperating for some time. But the newly surfacing details about how he got there are pretty disturbing. According to TMZ, Troxel initially told doctors he’d been stringing up Christmas lights when his arm somehow went through a glass window. But a nurse working at the hospital spoke with Troxel’s fiancé and got a much different story.

Police claim Troxel and his fiancé were coming home from a Mercury game in an Uber when Troxel tried to smoke weed in the car. His fiancé got upset and an argument ensued. When they got home, she broke up with him and he got angry. He reportedly pinned her to the ground, then pulled her up and dislocated her finger. Things escalated from there and he punched a hole through the window, severing two arteries. Troxel’s fiancé called 911 and rushed to the hospital with him, leaving a disgusting, bloody mess back home.

Cops say Troxel can be charged, but his fiancé doesn’t seem to be interested in getting him in trouble. She reportedly told authorities she just wants to see him get better.

So far, he hasn’t been charged or arrested.

Neither parties, nor the Phoenix Mercury, have issued a comment.
