Washington Redskins defensive back Montae Nicholson was arrested after he allegedly assaulted somebody while drunk early Tuesday morning.

The Loudon Times reported the following details:

Safety Montae M. Nicholson, 23, of Ashburn, was charged with assault and battery and drunk in public following the incident. Another suspect, Sydney A. Maggiore, 24, of Vienna, was reportedly with Nicholson at the scene. She has been charged with malicious wounding and assault and battery.

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 20400 block of Exchange Street shortly before 2 a.m. for a report of a fight.

The reported victims, an adult male and adult female, were located at the scene. They were allegedly assaulted by Nicholson and Maggiore, according to authorities. An investigation determined Nicholson assaulted the male victim, while Maggiore assaulted both the male and female victims. Maggiore is believed to have struck the female victim with a bottle.

The Loudon Times also reported that the alleged incident might have begun after one of the individuals honked a car horn at the victims. The young safety is currently out on bond.

The Redskins just can’t seem to stay away from negative media these days. First, they sign Reuben Foster after he was arrested for an alleged domestic violence incident, and now one of their players has been placed in handcuffs for allegedly fighting people while drunk. (RELATED: Here Are The Best Moments From Week 15 Of The NFL Season)

Not a great look at all.

Here’s some free advice that everybody should take to heart. Rarely do great things happen when alcohol and the early morning hours are combined. That’s just a fact.

You can disagree with me all you’d like, but every single general manager in pro sports is bound to agree. It’s a recipe for disaster.

You can also safely bet that the league will step in here pretty quickly to deal with this situation if the Redskins don’t do it themselves.

Obviously, these are all just allegations at this point, but it’s a rough look for Nicholson and the woman with him. People with so much at risk need to learn how to make better decision. They can start by not allegedly being out in the early morning hours under the influence of alcohol.
