Super Bowl LIII performers like Maroon 5 and Travis Scott are urged to take a knee in solidarity with former NFL player Colin Kaepernick in a new petition that’s gaining attention.

“As you know, Maroon 5, Travis Scott and Big Boi will all perform at the Super Bowl halftime show; despite celebrities like Rihanna, Jay-Z, Amy Schumer and Cardi B paving the road for a boycott; despite outraged fans on Twitter; despite our nearly 85,000 signatures asking them not to play,” the petition read Wednesday(RELATED: Maroon 5 Confirms That They’ll Play The Super Bowl Halftime Show With Travis Scott And Big Boi)

“It appears these artists aren’t backing out at this point. So now what,” it added. “There’s one way they can still redeem their reputation with their fans. The petition concluded, “Show the hundreds of millions of people watching that you stand in solidarity with [Colin] Kaepernick and all players who protest police brutality. Use this opportunity to force the NFL to change their policy.”

The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback has since disputed reports that the “Sicko Mode” rapper cleared it with him before accepting the gig to play in the championship game halftime show in Atlanta. The two reportedly didn’t agree that he should play, but came to an understanding about why he would accept the job.

On Sunday, Scott confirmed rumors that he was joining Maroon 5 and would be a performer during the big show in February.

“I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in. I know being an artist that it’s in my power to inspire,” the 26-year-old rapper shared. “So before confirming the Super Bowl Halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation. I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change.”
