Jason Reitman, son of famed director Ivan Reitman, dropped a teaser trailer Wednesday for the true third film in the franchise to his father’s original 80s hit “Ghostbusters.”

Reitman tweeted, “Everybody can relax, I found the car. #GB20,” along with the trailer. In the video, viewers can see a barn out in the country in darkness with a storm raging overhead. Then there’s a flash of electricity inside and some wind blows inside the building and a tarp blows away to reveal the ghosthunter’s mobile. At the end, the words “Summer 2020” flash on the screen. A short time later, “Ghostbusters” star Dan Aykroyd retweeted the clip to his thousands of followers and wrote, “If you need a tune-up, you know who to call #GB20.”

Reitman, who previously directed “Up in the Air” and “Juno,” shared with Entertainment Weekly that he’s been working on a true follow-up to the original supernatural flick with such stars as Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Sigourney Weaver. “I’ve always thought of myself as the first “Ghostbusters” fan when I was a 6-year-old visiting the set. I wanted to make a movie for all the other fans,” Reitman explained. “This is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot. What happened in the ’80s happened in the ’80s, and this is set in the present day.”

“This is very early, and I want the film to unwrap like a present. We have a lot of wonderful surprises and new characters for the audience to meet,” he added. “I’ve thought about this franchise and it has occupied a piece of my heart for basically as long as I can remember.”

Reitman continued, “I have so much respect for what Paul [Feig, creator of all-female Ghostbusters film] created with those brilliant actresses, and would love to see more stories from them. However, this new movie will follow the trajectory of the original film.”

There is still no word yet on what the plot will be or if some of the original cast members will be returning. Can’t wait!
