The NFL made a disgusting amount of money in 2018, and the numbers are only expected to go up.
Bloomberg wrote the following Monday:
The NFL generated about $15 billion this past season, making it the king of U.S. sports. And the league is about to lean even harder on its fans, aiming to boost its annual revenue to $25 billion by 2027. That may test the limits of a sport grappling with shifting TV habits and controversies surrounding brain injuries and the national anthem.
But tailwinds could help the NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell achieve their growth targets. The spread of legalized sports betting across the U.S. promises to lock in fans and keep them riveted to games. Tech companies like Amazon.com Inc. and Facebook Inc., meanwhile, have emerged as bidders for big-dollar broadcast packages.
Making $15 billion this past season is a ton of money to begin with. In fact, that is simply a sickening amount of cash.

Having said all of that, he’s never going to lose his job if the NFL’s revenue keeps skyrocketing as the years go by. Professional football is a business, and business is booming right now. There’s no other way to spin it.
Even the biggest Goodell critic on the planet has to admit that the league is thriving right now. If you can’t even admit that, then you don’t understand how money and business works.
Sure, the world isn’t perfect. The Saints debacle wasn’t pretty, but it’s not going to derail the league.

All in all, the NFL is just crushing it at life right now. The Super Bowl is a few days away, the league is making more money than it knows what to do with and it looks like it’ll only get better from here.
Life is good if you’re a football fan or have financial ties to the league. There’s no doubt about it.
