LaVar Ball is back, and he’s making it clear that he doesn’t want his son Lonzo traded to New Orleans.

Lonzo has been talked about a lot as the Lakers and Pelicans negotiate a potential trade for Anthony Davis. It seems like the young point guard must be included in order for the Pelicans to make the deal.

Well, that won’t be happening if LaVar has anything to say about it. According to ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk late Monday afternoon, the head of the Ball family told the media, “We want to be in LA. But if he’s traded, I don’t want Lonzo in New Orleans. Phoenix is the best fit for him. And I am going to speak it into existence.” (RELATED: Anthony Davis Fined $50,000 For Public Trade Demand)

First off, welcome back LaVar. It’s been way too long since we last heard from him. Secondly, the fact he’s speaking again must mean he’s really worried Lonzo is about to get shipped out of town, and he’s doing his best to sabotage it.

If Lonzo comes off as supremely disinterested, then there’s a good chance the Pelicans could push back from the table.

It seems like this situation is about to get a lot wilder before it settles down, especially now that Lavar is involved and back to talking with the media.

Once he opens his mouth, you can guarantee that all bets are off.

If it looks like the trade is going down, then you can really expect LaVar to start popping off. It should be a ton of fun!
