A video of a man free diving underneath a transparent frozen lake is going viral on social media this week.
The video, which was shared by the popular viral video account Viral Hog, shows Petr Kapoun swimming underneath the crystal clear Lake Milada in the Czech Republic. The video has received close to 100,000 viewers since it was posted Monday. (RELATED: Man Goes Viral For Hilariously Falling Into This World Famous River)
While it might make you short of breath, the video is truly incredible.

“I am okay,” Kapoun says as he finally comes up for air, laughing.
Uhhhhh, is he though? What would possess a man to swim under a FROZEN lake in the first place? I get that there’s really only a thin layer of ice here but still. I can’t imagine the water is balmy underneath. And he’s only wearing a tiny bathing suit and a mask so he can see the line that leads him to safety. The entire situation looks less than comfortable.
Especially since the “thin” layer of ice on top of the lake is strong enough to hold a fully grown man:
