Lots of people tuned in for the Grammy Awards on CBS Sunday night.

According to TVByTheNumbers, 17.95 million people watched the broadcast. The same report indicated that the numbers weren’t as great as the show last year, which received almost 20 million viewers. (SLIDESHOW: These Women On Instagram Hate Wearing Clothes)

The numbers might not be spectacular, but 18 million people is still a ton for any one single show.

Even if it is down from 2018, you can’t be that disappointed with the viewership numbers. With so many options on TV these days, you just can’t expect the numbers to always be high.

Besides, award shows have been losing their luster for some time.

In case you were wondering whether Americans love football or the Grammys more, the Super Bowl had nearly 100 million viewers.

The NFL’s greatest game of the year absolutely crushed the Grammy Awards as we all watched the Patriots win another ring. It wasn’t even close.

It makes my heart all warm and fuzzy knowing that football is still king in this country and that award shows continue to slip.

It’s a sign that America is still headed in the correct direction.
