Here’s The Surprising Reason Liam Hemsworth Missed The Grammy Awards With Miley Cyrus

Liam Hemsworth was not by his new wife Miley Cyrus’ side Sunday at the Grammy Awards because the night before he reportedly was in the hospital after suffering from kidney stones.

A source close to the 29-year-old actor told E! News on Monday that Hemsworth was originally going to miss the show because he was supposed to be out on a promotional tour for his latest movie “Isn’t It Romantic” with Priyanka Chopra and Rebel Wilson. (RELATED: Liam Hemsworth Shares Shocking Photo Of His Shared House With Miley Cyrus Reduced To Ashes)

However, he reportedly ended up canceling his press event because he was suffering from kidney stones and had to go to the hospital.

Hemsworth co-star Wilson said she got a text Sunday from “The Last Song” star, saying that he had been admitted to the hospital. No other details about why were given.

“He [Hemsworth] texted us this morning — he was in hospital overnight, so hopefully he will be fine,” Wilson shared with Extra.

A short time later, the “Wrecking Ball” singer also shared that her husband would miss the premiere of his movie because he was recovering “due to health reasons.”

“So proud of my hunky hubby @liamhemsworth & his newest movie #IsntItRomantic He unfortunately wasn’t able to attend due to health reasons… but he is recovering and taking this time to rest / heal,” Cyrus captioned her post on Instagram. “It’s hard for entertainers to put themselves before the project but this time it was crucial …. I am proud to represent him and his incredible work.”

“So happy to see him shining in this comedy,” she added. “He is the funniest person I know , and the world now gets to see the Liam I wake up to every day…. luckiest.”

The news comes in light of he and Cyrus making headlines in December with news that they had finally tied the knot in a private ceremony with family and friends after years of being together.

“She [Cyrus] will still be known as Miley Cyrus but she took my name, which is great,” Hemsworth recently gushed about the wedding. “I think that was one of the best things about it. I didn’t ask her to take my name and she was like of course I’m taking your name.”
