The Pac-12 Network appears to be an absolute disaster.
According to the Mercury News, members of the athletic conference were led to believe that they could be getting upwards of $10 million a year each from the TV network, which is similar to the networks representing the Big Ten and SEC.
However, that’s not what has happened at all. Schools were reportedly paid less than $2.7 million from the network in 2018. (RELATED: Alabama Football’s Program Makes Embarrassing Valentine’s Day Mistake On Twitter)
That’s a shockingly low number.

Right now, the Big 10 and the SEC are rolling in cash. Members of the Big Ten got more than $50 million each in the last distributions for revenue and TV deals. Obviously, that includes more than just the Big Ten Network, but it’s proof that the Pac-12 isn’t even in the same ballpark.
The Big Ten Network is a national brand that goes from west of the Mississippi River all the way to the Atlantic Ocean. It covers a gigantic part of the country.

It must piss off the Pac-12 officials so much to see the Big Ten and SEC just crushing it at life, and then realizing they’re making virtually no money.
Oh well, welcome to the world of major college athletics. The strong survive and the weak will die. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
