Mike Florio thinks there’s a chance the 49ers could trade for Giants star Odell Beckham Jr. at some point in the coming months.

He wrote the following Monday on ProFootballTalk:

The 49ers have had real interest in Beckham for nearly a year; the only question is whether the Giants are willing to pull the trigger. As reflected by last week’s bold offseason prediction from Jay Glazer, the Giants may indeed be ready to do so.

The 49ers hold the second and 36th overall picks in the 2019 draft; the No. 2 overall selection would seemingly be a high price to pay, possibly requiring the Giants to send maybe a third- or fourth-round pick back to the 49ers to balance it all out.

This isn’t a crazy idea. The draft picks seem to be there, Beckham might need a change of scenery and the 49ers have a talented young quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo. Given the inability to win in New York, don’t be shocked if Beckham tries to get out ASAP. (RELATED: Patriots Beat The Rams In The Super Bowl)

Given his need for attention, the 49ers make a ton of sense. They’re in California, it’s sunny all year and he’d be by Silicon Valley.

Again, there’s a lot of evidence here to suggest it could work.

Of course, there’s also a really good chance that Beckham would want to stick around to play with Saquon Barkley for a little bit longer if the Giants pull the trigger on drafting Dwayne Haskins.

An offense with Haskins, Barkley and Beckham would be very dangerous.
