President Donald Trump spoke to a crowd of his supporters in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Thursday night, shredding the Green New Deal and joking about electric cars.

Musing that Green New Deal prompter New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants to get gas-powered cars off the roads, Trump said there’s always an alternative.

“And it’s got to be, of course, an electric car,” Trump quipped as he derided the “extreme, $100-trillion government takeover” of the Green New Deal. “Even if it only goes, what? 160 miles? What do you do? It’s 160 miles. Darling, where do I get a charge? Where do I get a charge?” Trump asked, according to Fox News. Trump then suggested, however, it that it’s too early to start tearing apart electric cars or the Green New Deal: “I’d rather not talk about it tonight because I don’t want to talk them out of it too soon. Because I love campaigning against the Green New Deal. I want them to make that a big part of their platform.”

Still, the president couldn’t resist taking a few more jabs.

“No more airplanes, no more cows,” Trump said. “One car per family … You know, I don’t think one car per family in Michigan plays too well, do you agree? Not too well.

The Green New Deal was rejected in the Senate this week by a vote of 57-0 after Ocasio-Cortez asked her Democratic colleagues to indicate that they were “present” at the vote. Those refusing to support the potential legislation included several Democratic presidential candidates.

The Ocasio-Cortez scheme calls for the elimination of greenhouse gasses within a decade, something the environmental activist-cum congresswoman says can be achieved by phasing-out air travel and eliminating “farting cows” that also contribute to emissions. (RELATED: Mark Steyn Ridicules ‘Totalitarian’ Green New Deal With Tucker Carlson)

Dubbed the “Green Raw Deal” by some opponents, the plan is increasingly dividing Democrats, some of whom see the would-be legislation as too impractical and costly.

Ocasio-Cortez’s staff released a slipshod backgrounder on the legislation on the day it was introduced in the House of Representatives, with a pledge to pay people who were “unwilling to work.”
