The latest “SEAL Team” episode “Rock Bottom” was absolutely outstanding.

WARNING: THERE ARE OBVIOUSLY GOING TO BE SPOILERS BELOW. DO NOT KEEP READING IF YOU AREN’T CAUGHT UP YET. CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED.

Last episode, we saw Brett kill himself after not getting treated for a TBI, and that storyline was featured prominently in “Rock Bottom.”

Clay keeps fighting the VA system to get veterans the help they need but continues to get hit with the harsh reality that the system is broken. As the doctor told him after Brett’s suicide, it might as well be the DMV. As sad as this storyline is from “SEAL Team,” it may actually be one of the most important.

CBS has a huge platform here, and it’s putting it to work by shining a light on the problems our heroes have when they try to get help after serving the country. It’s frustrating, enraging, downright heartbreaking and not easy to watch. The show doesn’t hold back as it shows the despair Clay and other people face when trying to get their wounds, especially the unseen ones treated. Clay went through a bomb blast of his own and is clearly worried about whether he will suffer from a TBI down the road. As a doctor on the show says, even claiming to have symptoms could end a military career, which stops people from reporting.

I can’t wait to see where the storyline continues, and I’m really glad to see CBS pouring attention on an issue more Americans should absolutely know about.

As for the rest of Bravo, they’re still kicking some butt and facing problems of their own. Following a cool action sequence, Ray and Jason finally come to blows in a bar.

Jason confronts Ray about his family situation, which results in Ray telling his team leader that the death of his wife has fractured his life.

Naturally, the punches started flying immediately.

Things only got worse from there. The team parachutes into the disputed territory between India and Pakistan to kill a man referred to as “the next Bin Laden.” In the closing moments of the episode, Ray’s chute doesn’t deploy and we have no idea whether he’s alive or not.

It was another outstanding episode from CBS and everybody involved with “SEAL Team.” I can’t wait to see where things go from here. The show has been outstanding lately, and I don’t think it’ll slow down one bit.
