The XFL has reached a massive television deal with ESPN and Fox.

Sports Business Daily reported the following Monday morning:

The multiyear deal calls for 24 of the XFL’s 43 games to be on broadcast TV (13 on ABC; 11 on Fox), including two Thursday primetime games on Fox in April ’20. The networks are not paying a rights fee, but ESPN and Fox are picking up production costs, which generally amount to around $400,000 per game, sources said. As part of the deal, the nets will sell ads around the game; the XFL will handle sponsorships at the venue. ESPN and Fox will hold streaming rights to XFL games.

This is great news for the XFL. I really think the league is going to be a success, and having a solid TV deal is a major sign things are headed in the correct direction.

Despite the fact the Alliance of American Football turned out to be a gigantic disaster, it still generated a decent amount of attention. (RELATED: Johnny Manziel Throws For 48 Yards, Rushes For 20 In AAF Debut)

Now, the XFL is primed to broadcast games on ABC, ESPN, Fox and FS1. That’s as legit of a television lineup as you could ever hope for.

Now, the league needs to go out and add some great talent. Obviously, the first call is going to need to be to Johnny Manziel.

Vince McMahon is going to need a big time name to generate headlines and attention. Right now, Manziel is his best bet. He’s not going to get Tim Tebow, who is the only other option I think could headline the league.

With Tebow playing in the Mets organization, Johnny Football is the best option on the table.
