Born in New York City, New York, the “Rent” star got her first big break in the entertainment business when she was a young child and got picked to appear on “Sesame Street” in 1969. Getting parts on Edward Burns’ “Sidewalks of New York” in 2001 and “Shattered Glass” in 2003 definitely helped her career.
