NBC affiliate in Raleigh interviews ex-Sen. John Edwards

WRAL recently sat down with ex-Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.). The gist of the interview is that Edwards, 65, is making a comeback after a sex scandal destroyed his 2008 presidential campaign. He has partnered up and is running a personal injury law firm. The story says he has “quietly” resumed his legal career.

His campaign disintegrated after news surfaced that he had fathered a child with his campaign filmmaker, Reille Hunter, while his wife, Elizabeth Edwards, was dying of cancer. He also got in hot water for a few $400 haircuts, but he later repaid his campaign. The National Enquirer published news of the affair in October, 2007. Edward said the report was totally “made up.”

Edwards initially denied being the baby girl’s father. In January, 2008, Edwards suspended his presidential campaign. He ultimately admitted to the affair in August, 2008. He maintained, however, that some of the details in the National Enquirer story were wrong.

In 2010, he admitted the child was his.

“I think what I always wanted to do was big cases in a courtroom,” Edwards told WRAL. “I love being in a courtroom.”

Edwards is working with his daughter, Cate Edwards, which he says he enjoys.

His legal business partner is David Kirby, said Edwards can feel your pain. He sang Edwards’ praises, saying, “If you’re someone who has had something bad happen to you, you can’t have a better champion for your rights than John.”

Congresswoman dares you to mess with her

“Policing my words, twisting & turning them to ignite vile attacks on me will not work. All of you who are trying to silence me will fail miserably. I will never allow you to take my words out of context to push your racist and hateful agenda. The truth will always win.” — Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.).

Ex-President Bill Clinton accuser Juanita Broaddrick cracked, “We don’t have to twist OR turn your words. They stand alone in their disgusting hate for what America stands for.” (RELATED: Broaddrick Calls Van Susteren An Imbecile)

Senator has new spin on MAGA

“Kamala Harris is absolutely right. President Trump isn’t trying to make America great, he’s trying to make America hate. When you have a president who traffics in hate, people will follow his lead. We need a leader who will unite us, not divide us.” — Jeff Merkley (D-Oregon).

“I’d be happier if Metro police were around on Friday when there was a guy yelling at everyone who got on the train, forcing people to move away which didn’t stop him from lecturing the invisible person next to him. I can deal with someone eating a lollipop.” — Jay Caruso, deputy editor, Washington Examiner Mag.

Journo is absolutely not on an ‘anorexia’ fast

“I’m trying to lose some weight so I haven’t had like a ‘meal’ in a few days but I’m also not doing an anorexia fast (which I have done in the past) because I’m not in a total self-harm mode. But the conclusion I’ve reached is that it is actually harder to do this shallow end shit.” — Ben Dreyfuss, editorial director, Mother Jones. “Like, once you get past the first few days of an anorexia fast, it’s ok. But this whole ‘not eating meals’ thing is giving me hunger pains to die with.”
