Demi Lovato showed off some new ink Thursday that she says is the “most meaningful” tattoo she’s ever gotten.

The 26-year-old singer made the big reveal on Instagram with a pair of snaps. The tattoo is an image of her “Mimaw” looking just as stunning as her very talented granddaughter.

She captioned it, “This is for you Mimaw. You at 26 on my arm while I’m 26, and forever. I love you more. Thank you @_dr_woo_ for making her come back to life for me … it’s stunning and the most meaningful tattoo I have ever gotten.” (SLIDESHOW: These Are The Greatest Demi Lovato Photos On The Internet)

In March, Lovato hit back after a headline described her as having a “fuller figure” and made it clear articles like that no longer “triggered” her. But she warned about what it could do to others struggling with their own body image.

“I am more than my weight,” the superstar explained. “I’m angry that people think it’s okay to write headlines about people’s body shapes. Especially a woman who has been so open about being in recovery from an eating disorder.”

“I’m not upset for myself but for anyone easily influenced by the diet culture,” she added. “Too many people today base their ideal body weight off of what OTHERS tell us we should look like or weigh. Articles like these only contribute to that toxic way of thinking.”

As previously reported, the pop singer had a serious wake-up call about life last summer after she nearly died following a drug overdose. She remained in the hospital for two weeks then immediately went to rehab. Most recently, reports have surfaced that she is doing extremely well and committed to her sobriety.
