Lots of “Game of Thrones” fans don’t plan on going to work Monday.

The final episode of the show airs Sunday night on HBO, and that’s apparently more than enough reason for lots of people to dip out from their responsibilities Monday morning. (RELATED: These Are The Sexiest Photos Of ‘Game Of Thrones‘ Star Emilia Clarke On The Internet)

NBC News reported the following:

A survey conducted by the Harris Poll for The Workforce Institute at Kronos Incorporated among working adults who are scheduled to work either Sunday night or Monday morning found that 56 percent of respondents who said they plan to watch the finale on Sunday acknowledged that their productivity would be affected. More than one in five admitted they planned to take a vacation day, personal day or call in sick on Monday.

Look, I love “Game of Thrones” probably more than all of you. I’m the one who has been chronicling it for years. Not you. That’s been me, but this is such a soft move.

Unless the finale is so good that it gives us all heart attacks, there’s no reason to skip work. This is America, and that’s not the kind of attitude that put a man on the moon. (RELATED: Daenerys Turns Into The Mad Queen In ‘Game Of Thrones‘ Episode ‘The Bells’)

Game of Thrones” is an outstanding show. You know what’s even better than great television? Being rich. You know how you get rich? You get to work.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m juiced for tomorrow night, and I’ll have more on that later today. I couldn’t be more excited, but you’re out of your damn mind if you think I’d ever skip work.

Who would inform the masses? Who would break down all the iconic moments? Who would provide you all with instant reactions if I just didn’t show up?

Last time I checked, the military doesn’t just stop fighting wars for a day because of a TV show, no matter how great it is.

Enjoy “Game of Thrones” Sunday night and then get to work. It’s not that hard to figure out. As a leader of men, you can count on me showing up Monday morning just like every other day, and I expect the same out of all of you.
