The Democratic National Committee’s fundraising numbers lagged behind those of the Republican National Committee in April, receipt numbers show.

The RNC raised $15.9 million in donations while the DNC raised $6.6 million in April, according to campaign financial disclosures.

“A cash-strapped DNC is in no position to offer their eventual nominee significant resources after they conclude their costly primary battle,” an RNC spokesman said in a statement. (RELATED: DNC’s ‘Woke-Off’ Primary Gets More Woke)

The RNC has no debt. However, the DNC had $6.2 million in debt, the RNC spokesman said.

“Chairwoman [Ronna] McDaniel’s fundraising allows the RNC to build the necessary infrastructure and permanent data-driven ground game to benefit Republicans up and down the ballot,” the RNC spokesman said. “So while 2020 Democrats are forced for fork over $175K to access Democrat data, the RNC is able to provide all GOP candidates our state-of-the-art data and voter score technology free of charge.”

The RNC said its fundraising has been record-breaking and allowed the RNC to hire new regional political and state directors and expand regional communication efforts.
