The St. Louis Blues are headed to the Stanley Cup Final.

St. Louis obliterated the Sharks 5-1 Tuesday night to take the Western Conference finals 4-2, and they now have a date with the Boston Bruins on the horizon. Game one will be Monday night on NBC at 8:00 p.m. EST.

This is a very intriguing series. On one end you have the Bruins, who are one of the most historic organizations in all of sports and have won the Cup six times.

They’re rich in history, they have a rabid fanbase and they expect to win whenever they hit the ice.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Blues are playing for their first ever Stanley Cup. They’re a much newer team, they don’t have nearly as much history, but the city and state of Missouri is still stacked with great Midwestern hockey fans.

If this matchup doesn’t get your blood pumping, then you might want to go have a doctor check your pulse.

I’d also like to point out the Blues ran through the Sharks like a train after the atrocious hand pass no-call allowed San Jose to win game three of the series. (RELATED: San Jose Sharks Beat The St. Louis Blues On Awful Hand Pass No-Call In Overtime)

The hockey gods clearly didn’t take kindly to the refs making that awful no-call, and the Blues rattled off three straight wins to get the job done.

Welcome to the Stanley Cup, gentlemen. This is what it’s all about. Two teams, one Cup and hockey fans across the country locked in for a great series.

It should be one hell of a fun time.
