Melissa Rivers is filing a multi-million dollar wrongful death and medical malpractice lawsuit against the New York clinic where Joan Rivers was undergoing a procedure when she went into cardiac arrest in late August, dying days later in a nearby hospital.

Financial District firm Gair, Gair, Conason, Steigman, Mackauf, Bloom & Rubinowitz, a reputable 16-lawyer firm in Manhattan, is handling the lawsuit, which will also name the doctors who operated on Rivers during her routine procedure, along with the clinic itself, Page Six reports.

As The Daily Caller reported in mid-September, the doctor and medical director at Yorkville Endoscopy had already been fired amid allegations that doctors performed unplanned procedures and took selfies in the operating room. Rivers was placed on life support after the procedure went awry, and lack of oxygen to the brain was ruled as the official cause of death on Sept. 4. (RELATED: Joan Rivers’ Doctor FIRED From Clinic)
