Arizona’s shocking first round March Madness loss to Buffalo made a lot of money for the sportsbooks in Las Vegas.

ESPN’s David Payne Purdum tweeted Friday morning, “More bets were placed on Arizona to win the NCAA tournament than any other team at multiple Las Vegas sportsbooks.”

This is why the house always wins. People apparently bet on Arizona more than any other team, and they didn’t even survive the first weekend. That’s music to the ears of Las Vegas sportsbooks. That’s cash in the bank for all of them.

Also, why did so many people bet on Arizona? They were a four-seed. A four-seed! They weren’t even a top ten team in the tournament. Makes no sense to me, unless it was a fun bet for some people after placing their serious picks.

I didn’t put a single penny on Arizona. I guess I just have the golden eye for what it takes to win the tournament, and the bettors in Vegas clearly don’t.
