After President Donald Trump’s remarks in the White House Rose Garden announcing his plan to lower prescription drug prices, a reporter shouted about a different topic, asking Trump whether the White House should apologize to Sen. John McCain.
A reporter shouted, “Mr. President, does the White House owe senator McCain an apology, sir?”
The question was in relation to comments in an internal meeting by a White House staffer about John McCain’s health and the new CIA director vote. While discussing McCain’s opposition to CIA director nominee Gina Haspel, special assistant Kelly Sadler reportedly said, “It doesn’t matter, he’s dying anyway.”

“Today, my administration is launching the most sweeping action in history to lower the price of prescription drugs for the American people,” Trump said Friday. “We will have tougher negotiation, more competition, and much lower prices at the pharmacy counter.”
The president on to say, “We’re very much eliminating the middlemen. The middlemen became very, very rich. Right? They won’t be so rich anymore.”
Trump then invited Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar onstage to explain the program.
After the remarks, Trump and Secretary Azar turned to leave, which is when the reporter shouted the question.
