The ladies of ABC’s “The View” applauded each other Wednesday for their ability to have “civilized discourse.”

Cohost Sunny Hostin blamed President Donald Trump for the ugly rhetoric in the country, stating, “People realized, my goodness, you can… call Mexicans rapists and murderers, you can say  all of these racist, uncivilized, ugly things and still be elected President of the United States.” (RELATED: ‘I Am A Caucasian’ — Amy Schumer Goes On ‘The View,’ Says A ‘Woman Of Color’ Should Have Played Her In New Movie)

“Make fun of Gold Star families,” Joy Behar added. “Grab women by their genitalia.”

Meghan McCain said that she still believes people are capable of having respectful political debates and pointed to cohost Joy Behar as a living example. (RELATED: Joy Behar: ‘I Sincerely Apologize For What I Said’ About Mike Pence’s Christian Faith)

“There’s a respect level here between us,” McCain claimed.

“We have civilized discourse,” Hostin added.

Those words are pretty different from what McCain had to say after Behar mocked Pence for his Christian faith. In February, she accused her cohosts of extending tolerance to everyone except people who disagree with them. (RELATED: ‘The View’ Cuts Off Meghan McCain During Condemnation Of Her Cohosts)
